United Voice of Villagers Pays Off: Bishanpur Junapara–Salka Bypass Road Project Finally Approved

Koriya/Baikunthpur: In a major boost to regional development and public infrastructure, villagers of the Bishanpur, Junapara, and Salka areas received a long-awaited gift during the Chhattisgarh Government’s Good Governance Festival program organized in Gram Phulpur on May 26, 2026. The announcement regarding the approval of the proposed bypass road from Bishanpur Junapara Bagicha Chowk to Salka Chowk brought immense joy and hope among residents who had been demanding the project for several years.

The information was shared by regional MLA Bhaiya Lal Rajwade in the presence of the Koriya Collector and other administrative officials. As soon as the proposal was announced, waves of excitement spread across the entire region, with villagers celebrating the decision as a historic achievement for public welfare and regional progress.

For years, local residents had been facing severe difficulties due to the deteriorating condition of the existing Bishanpur–Salka road. Frequent accidents, traffic congestion, and transportation problems had become a major concern for commuters, farmers, students, and patients. The need for an alternative bypass road was continuously raised by villagers through public meetings, memorandums, applications, and awareness campaigns. Residents repeatedly urged the administration and public representatives to take concrete action for safer and smoother transportation.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the project has been the remarkable unity displayed by the people of Talwapara locality. Despite concerns that a few houses might be affected during road construction, local residents collectively submitted a signed no-objection letter in support of the development work. Villagers stated that development is only possible when people rise above personal interests and work together for the welfare of society. Their cooperation became a shining example of public participation in democratic development.

Women representatives also played a significant role in pushing the demand forward. Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Dharmavati Rajwade and Gram Panchayat Junapara Sarpanch Rita Khalkho were widely appreciated for their active leadership, continuous follow-up with officials, and dedicated efforts in bringing the issue to the attention of the administration. Villagers acknowledged that the determination and commitment shown by these women leaders gave fresh momentum to a demand that had remained pending for years.

Following the announcement, villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude towards MLA Bhaiya Lal Rajwade, the district administration, Janpad Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat representatives for responding positively to the long-standing public demand. Residents believe that the proposed bypass road will significantly improve connectivity between rural areas, reduce road accidents, and make transportation easier and safer for daily commuters.

Apart from improving road connectivity, the project is also expected to benefit trade, agriculture, employment opportunities, education, and healthcare services in the region. Farmers will find it easier to transport agricultural produce, students will be able to travel safely to schools and colleges, and patients will gain quicker access to medical facilities. Many villagers described the road project as a “lifeline” for the region’s future growth and prosperity.

The approval of the Bishanpur Junapara–Salka bypass road project has created a new sense of optimism across the region. Residents are now eagerly waiting for construction work to begin soon so that the long-cherished dream of better infrastructure can finally become a reality. Villagers believe that this achievement stands as a powerful example of how public unity, responsible leadership, and administrative sensitivity can together bring meaningful change and open a new chapter in regional development.
